Jack’s work at EII is focused on writing and policy analysis with a particular emphasis on EII’s regional initiative in California. Jack received his BA in economics from UC Davis and previously worked as a research assistant intern for California State Senator Fran Pavley’s office, who co-authored California’s landmark climate bill, “The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006” (AB 32). During this time he worked on topics related to cap-and-trade, and more broadly provided economic analysis on the costs and benefits of AB 32.  Jack also has a background in growing wine grapes and has helped manage his family’s vineyard in Sonoma, California – Rio Lago Ranch and Vineyard. As an undergrad Jack competed for the UC Davis tennis team, and in his spare time he enjoys backpacking, playing chess, and raising chickens.
