Tropical Forests, Climate Change, and Jurisdictional Sustainability

Sustainable, low-emission rural development in tropical forest regions will go to scale when it is embraced and defended by the societies that control these regions.  This means that the governments, farms and forest sectors, forest-dependent communities, businesses and organized civil society of tropical forest regions must realize tangible benefits from the sustainability agenda.  This roundtable dialogue is designed to support progress towards a general framework for achieving jurisdictional sustainability, informed by two of the most advanced case studies: Mato Grosso, Brazil and Central Kalimantan, Indonesia.
