Jurisdictional Approach Transformation Towards Sustainable Palm Oil in Central Kalimantan

Using a simple cell phone application, Earth Innovation Institute’s Indonesian sister organization, INOBU, has mapped over 2000 smallholder oil palm farmers in the Seruyan district, helping them take the first step toward receiving the environmental permits necessary for sustainable certification. Smallholders make up 42% of oil palm producers in the country but are often left out of programs meant to increase sustainability of the industry.  This short clip, produced by the Tropical Forest Alliance, highlights progress being made to bring entire districts into sustainable production systems.
