Earth Innovation Institute has been carefully tracking developments with regard to the spread of the novel Coronavirus. We have taken steps to minimize its spread, suspending all in-person activities that do not follow regional guidelines advising social distancing, and implementing mandatory work-from-home procedures for staff and personnel.

Engagement and coordination with stakeholders and partners remain central to our work, and we are confident that our teams working across and living in six countries and multiple tropical forest jurisdictions will be able to carry forward with their work even as they adjust to these new and troubling circumstances. We hope to resume normal activities again as efforts to control the outbreak take effect and we will remain in touch with updates as events unfold. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out for information or questions regarding our programs.

These are troubling times, for all of us. In the midst of this unprecedented crisis, EII wants to take this moment to extend our gratitude to those working on the frontlines to help ensure that the ties that bind us as a society remain strong. We wish to thank the health workers, civil servants, state officials, and others who are – at personal risk – working to provide critical services at this time of great need and unease. We appreciate your service, and your dedication.

As you know, tropical forests are critical to the health and well-being of the planet. In these anxious days and weeks, we ask that you continue to value the protection of these vital resources, as we will continue to do. And when we emerge from this current challenge, the need to support the world’s forests will remain as pressing as ever.
