We are excited to announce that the Earth Innovation Institute is partnering with the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force and Pronatura Sur to host an official side event at the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt on November 16, 2022.

Title: Mapping Subnational Climate Action through Forest Conservation that Benefits People and the Planet

Topic: The GCF Task Force will unite government leaders and partners to feature progress on the Manaus Action Plan (MAP). Launched at COP26, MAP is a plan to reduce deforestation, create low emissions economies and protect Indigenous Peoples and local communities’ rights in 1/3 of the world’s tropical forests
