EII in Bonn at COP23

Earth Innovation Staff and partners will be in Bonn, Germany this week, attending the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties 23 (COP23). Together with our partners, we will be hosting an official Side Event on building a global framework for low-emission rural development in tropical forest regions. Speakers include Governor Victor Manuel Noriega Reátegui of San Martin Department, Peru; Governor Taques of Mato Gross, Brazil; Governor Viana of Acre, Brazil; and Mr. Daddy Ruhiyat, Head of Provincial Climate Change Council, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. We will also be hosting two working group sessions: Commodity Production and Deforestation, and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities. Learn more about our events at COP23 here. Reflecting on the road to the COP23 in his recent blog - Hope in Bonn: Tropical Forests and Governors - Executive Director Dan Nepstad responds to pressing questions about tropical forests, governance, and partnerships for change. Stay tuned to our Twitter and Facebook for updates from this crucial global climate event.
