Mato Grosso Program Coordinator

Born and raised in Mato Grosso, Brazil, Lucélia has a degree in Administration and Technology in Agribusiness Management and Commodity Markets from the University of Cuiabá, and an MBA in Agribusiness Management from Esalq/USP. She has approximately 20 years of experience in the Mato Grosso agribusiness sector. Currently, she works as the Mato Grosso Program Coordinator, leading EII's work in support of Mato Grosso's progress towards a net zero economy, developing and implementing low emissions development strategies, and implementing the State and "Produce, Conserve, Include Strategy" (PCI), among other initiatives. Before joining EII, Lucélia worked for the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso (FAMATO), coordinating the Federation's technical team in cross-cutting matters, representing the productive sector in State and Federal collegiate bodies, preparing proposals for drafts of normative acts, designing and executing projects, advising the board and rural unions, giving lectures and participating in events and public hearings, and acting on issues related to the environment such as: the State Climate Change Policy, construction and implementation of the PCI Strategy, the State REDD Program, discussion of the Brazilian Forest Code, implementation of the State Rural Environmental Registry System, the State Plan to Prevent and Combat Burning and Deforestation, Socioeconomic Ecological Zoning of the State, and the State Forest Management Policy, among others.
