Oswaldo oversees projects in the Brazilian state of  Mato Grosso for Earth Innovation Institute, which he has worked with since 1996, focusing on how changes in land use affect biodiversity in the Amazon area. Oswaldo holds degrees in Environmental Sciences from the State University of Londrina- Parana and from the University of Pará, Brazil, and a Doctorate in Biodiversity Management from the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.
