Oyut holds a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from Clark University. Throughout her academic career, Oyut designed and conducted several research projects in Mongolia to better understand the relationship between policy, environment, and advocacy within civil society. Guided by skillsets in acquiring and analyzing satellite imagery, she takes these same ideologies and integrates them with her work to build further capacity. At EII, Oyut works on economic and spatial analyses for research projects related to sustainable development, climate change, and deforestation. She also focuses on the linkages between the design and evaluation of both local and national policies for reducing deforestation and accelerating reforestation. In her free time, Oyut enjoys playing soccer with friends, strumming the ukelele, and learning languages.
